Tina woke up early in the morning. She was very excited about the fact that there was an essay competition at school. She asked her parents to wake up. She dressed quickly and waited for her mother to give her breakfast which was very unlike the other days. She had her breakfast and ran out of the house praying for the school bus to come a bit early.

She wanted the topic to be good. She wanted to write a great essay and come first in the competition. She was all so pumped up. She was still waiting for the bus but it was not coming. That was usual for the bus to be late. So she decided to walk to the school which was a good four blocks away. She thought that she could get on the bus when it comes; till then she could walk.

She walked and walked but there was no sign of the bus. She was getting so tense. She will get late and the competition will start. She will not be able to bear the pain of not being able to compete. She could now see the school in the distance. She ran the last few yards and found the doors closed. Outside there was a notice, “Due to the sudden demise of our founder member Mr. Rajan Murthy, the school ill remain closed for today. The essay competition will be held next week.” Tina came back home weeping.
