The Girl!
There was a girl who loved to go by the river and stand there. She watched the beautiful river everyday and hoped that she could go to the other end and find out what’s there.
She asked her father to take her to the other side. Her father worked as a craftsman in the village. He was hardly able to manage the family of four children since his wife died, let alone take them somewhere. But he always told them that someday he would take them to a nice vacation someplace. The girl wished only to go to the other side of the river and see what was there.
She had heard all kind of stories from the villagers. They said that there were demons roaming about in the forests on the other side. No one really knew what was there. While other children used to get frightened, that girl wished just the opposite and was slowly becoming very determined to find out for herself. The width of the river was huge and the current was very fast. There was a bridge a long time ago but now, there exists the broken remains.
She got very frightened looking at the ferocious river. She wanted to swim through but she could not. And then she thought that one should be contented with whatever little they have. People should not get lost in their wants and should cherish things they have. So she decided to return and she felt a happier person now. She never ever tried to visit the place again.
