The King and His General

The king was a very strict person and everyone was afraid of him. He was a nice man though. Everyone was happy in his kingdom. Only one thing they disliked about the king was his passion for hunting.
The king’s mood was dependent on the hunting. If it went good, he was very happy and gave away free food to people. But if it went bad, he would give death sentence to any person who commits a wrong. His bad mood was dangerous. He once increased the taxes. The general thought that something should be done.

One day they both went to hunt in the forest. The king shot with his rifle several times at a deer but was never able to get it. Actually the general had his men placed who took the dead deer away so that the king would not be able to find it. The king got frustrated. The general then asked the king, if someone wanted to kill him like that what would he have done? The king was unable to answer. He then showed all the dead deer to the king. The king was speechless. The general said that they are unable to run faster than a bullet. What bad luck and so they had to die. If someone aimed at the king would he be able to run? The king felt deeply hurt and from that day on he decided not to hunt anymore. Everyone lived happily ever after.
