As children grow up they need to be made aware and must be given information about plenty of things. The most important thing is parents must make their growing children or teenager aware about is sex education. It is the responsibility of the parents to teach their children about sex without any kind of hesitation. After all parents are the best teachers and they know their children the best and moreover education in classroom is not enough for a child. A growing child or a teenager must be made to know few important things about sexuality from their parents like functions of the sexual organs, knowing more about their own gender and the differences with the other one, being aware of emotional and sexual abuse and also having the knowledge of sexual orientations.

Parents often find it difficult to talk about sex with teenagers directly, the problem lies in the fact that how to start with the topic, how to break the ice? Things can be smoothened if the sex education is started early so that children do not feel awkward when they start talking about it. Forcing to talk about sex is totally wrong and unethical, be casual in choosing the topic, for children need to feel comfortable. Parents must also listen to what their children want to say and should also encourage for asking questions. When children grow certain changes in the body functions take place, parents should discuss about those to their children. Growing children and teenagers should be well informed about all these to be a responsible adult with proper sexual awareness.
