Be it toddlers or older kids, tantrums are the most common problems in all children. Parents generally think that after the toddlers years, the tantrums will end, but it is not so, because many kids have continued tantrums even when they crossed their toddlers age. Older kids cannot handle anger and frustration and have trouble handling them. Temper tantrums which is most common among kids range from crying, whining to screaming, hitting, holding breath and kicking. Children can experience regular temper tantrums while others undergo tantrums rarely. Parents often find it difficult to handle tantrums but there are certain basic tantrum causes which are familiar to all the parents.
If the child wants attention, if he or she is tired or hungry or comfortable, they show tantrums. The other causes include when the child fail to get something that he or she wants, likes and needs, for example a parent or an object. For kids frustration is unavoidable. The parents must be guided properly to handle their kids’ temper tantrums. They should keep their cool as much possible and should be the ally of the child for taming the temper. Keep your patience when there is an outburst of the child’s anger, if the child is opposing, arguing and talking back. What counts is that how the parents will handle the situation. Parents must work on it calmly and make their children understand the ways to handle anger and frustration. But if you be harsh on them, they will become more prone to anger and will never be able to tame their temper.
